Song & Drum

Join for our very own All Women's Drumming Society in Colorado
Because drumming was recognized as an ancient source and symbol of the power of female technicians of the sacred, drumming was banned. Henceforth divinity was to be exclusively masculine. The suppression of women was directly linked to the suppression of the goddess.

Driven by the power of Harmonic Resonance & the Divine Feminine

For our ongoing Women’s Song & Drum Circles we gather for 2 hours of drum, song, and connection. This heart-centered circle features multicultural spiritual songs, shared rhythm, and community. Details will arrive through email upon registering with preparatory instructions as well as printable PDF of song lyrics.

Held in a reverent yet playful container by Rayah, participants are invited to join in with introductions, warm up exercises, herbal prayer offerings, then traditional as well as newly composed songs are shared. Spiritual Teachings are woven into the experience. Participants are invited to sing, play instruments, dance, stand upon the mother earth, to emote if needed. This is a safe space to feel free again!

For most offerings we will circle around the BIG Drum which is a real treat! If for some reason we cannot transport the drum to a location, extra drums and simple instruments will be provided. Some gatherings include a community potluck. Bring your own instrument if you wish and a willingness to dive in!

Bring along a sister, daughter, mother, or close friend who would enjoy being part of a heartfelt women’s gathering. The more beautiful voices woven together, the more powerful and uplifting the circle becomes. No singing experience is needed. Come exactly as you are.

Join Rayah and the Wild Origins Community IN PERSON: Crestone, Salida, Buena Vista, Boulder, and where called upon. Sign up by scrolling down to Women’s Sacred Song & Drum Circles on our HOME PAGE. Visit our CALENDAR to learn about CoEd gatherings and more!

Some gatherings are Women Only while others are not. Would you like to host Song & Drum Circle with Rayah? Let us know!

Rayah Sunshine

Rayah Sunshine's relationship with song began long before she ever led a circle.

As a child, she loved to sing to the trees, flowers, sunshine, animals, and wild places around her. Singing felt natural—a joyful conversation with life itself. But like many people, her voice was slowly diminished by criticism and conditioning. After years of being told she was "too much" or that her singing wasn't good enough, she gradually stopped sharing her voice altogether.

In her late twenties, song found her again through traditional North American ceremonial practices. Around sacred fires, near rivers, beneath the stars, and in community prayer, she discovered that song was not about performance—it was about relationship. Voice became a way to communicate with the elements, to offer gratitude, to pray, to grieve, to celebrate, and to connect with Spirit.

For more than twenty years she has immersed herself in song, rhythm, ceremony, and earth-based traditions. Along the way she learned something profound: every person has a voice worth hearing.

Today, Rayah guides song circles, drumming experiences, retreats, and ceremonial gatherings that help people reconnect with their natural expression. Her approach is simple, welcoming, and deeply participatory. No musical experience is required. Through easy-to-learn songs, shared rhythm, and community connection, she invites people to move beyond self-judgment and rediscover the joy, confidence, and vitality that emerge when the voice is allowed to be fully expressed.

For Rayah, song is more than music—it is medicine, prayer, remembrance, and a pathway home to ourselves.
